One of the saddest things happened after my family watched The Greatest Showman. Something sad, yet also hopeful. My nieces and nephew, all very young, were confused, and had no idea why it was bad for the acrobat, Wheeler, and Carlyle, to be together. They did not understand why love can be wrong. They did not see what older generations saw; A black woman, and a white man being together in a time where black people are thought of as dirty, and subhuman. The saddest part, was when we had to explain why Carlyle's parents were so upset, why they were so angry at him. But the hopeful part, was when they said that it was silly, and made no sense,
